How do you turn off the 5-0 Radio or HiDef Radio app?
There are two ways. The first and easiest way is to just press the Blue Square button when you are listening to a feed. This will stop the feed. The second way is to close the app fully. To do so, double-press the Home button (that physical button under the screen). Then press and hold onto the app's icon until it wiggles. Then press the red button on the top-left of the app's icon. This will quit the app fully.

Can you add this location to your app?
We are adding new locations on a daily basis. We hope to cover most areas within a few months, but need your support to do so. So please leave us a good review and tell your friends about the app. The more users we have, the more locations we can afford to add.

Why is this location not working or available in your app?
Our large network of feeds are provided by volunteers with a radio scanner and a server. Since a feed's availability are based on the work of volunteers, it is often out of our hands when a feed goes offline. If you have a police scanner (costs $100-300 USD) and a computer with internet access, you can volunteer to stream the feed online for everyone to hear. Go to to learn about how to become a feed provider for our app.

How do I prolong the battery life when using the app?
The display is what uses up the most batteries. Either lower the brightness, or press the power button and turn off the screen. To save even more batteries, run the feeds in background mode. This allows you listen to the app without running the extra functions to save batteries.

How comes it says "No Volume Available"?
First, check that your iPhone is not set on vibrate. Then, turn off and on your device.

How do I record feeds / Use the Sleep Timer / Alarm / Siren ?
Tap on "More", then tap on white buttons on the bottom-right corner.

How do I delete recordings?
In your list of recordings, swipe your finger across the recording you want to delete. A red "Delete" button should appear. Tap it.

When I listen in background mode, only text shows
Go to settings, then Safari. Where it says Plug-ins, make sure that it is turned on.

How do I listen to feeds on my computer?
When you are listening to the feed, on the top-right is the action button. Tap that, then tap on the "Share This Feed By Email". Then email yourself the URL. Then open iTunes and press Ctrl+U (or Cmd+U for Macs). Now paste the URL from your email.

How do I listen to Howard?
You need 5-0 Radio Pro for this. Tap on the "Search" menu item. Search for "Howard". Pick the first few stations until you find one that works.

I can't use Safari while in background mode.
We have a cool app called "Start Up! Browser" that blocks ads. If you download it, you can surf the web while listening to feeds in the background.

Help! My Toolbars are Missing! There's no Back Button!
You are in fullscreen mode. The toolbar can be accessed by tapping on the bottom-right corner of the screen. You can also add your own icons to the front page by bookmarking a site.

Adding Radio stations to Safari as Bookmarks
First go to the feed that you want. Then on the top-right, there is a button that looks like a rectangle with an arrow coming out of it. Tap that. Then tap on "Background Mode". Now Safari should open. Press Done. Then press the "+" button on the bottom. Then tap "Add to Bookmark". Give the bookmark a name of your choosing. Then tap Done. Now, whenever you want to listen to the radio station that you want, open Safari and tap on the icon that looks like a open book. Then tap on the bookmark that you just created.

What is the Lock Icon For?
The Lock button is to lock the orientation of the screen to prevent it from rotating. So, say that you want to read your news articles in landscape mode only, you can rotate the app so that it is in landscape mode, then press the lock button until it turns blue. When it is gray, that means that it is unlocked.
